K-12 Teacher Enhancement Programs

|
The prototype education model
program links students to scientific data, research projects, and scientific
expertise through the Internet. This model, developed in conjunction with
the Planetary and Space Science Center Outreach Program, involves teachers
and students from six Wyoming schools: Jackson, Tongue River (Ranchester/Dayton),
Lusk, Laramie, Casper, and Cheyenne. UW science/mathematics education faculty
and graduate students and the Research Cluster scientists are developing
energy education materials which incorporate changes in instructional design
facilitated by the technology and are investigating ways to access, store,
and retrieve data. The team brings together the higher education community,
state/regional/national energy industry, and school personnel for the purpose
of enhancing research and education in energy science.
The Wyoming Coal
Website offers information in an education-friendly format for students and
educators to learn more about coal, and its influence upon the state of Wyoming.
