Applications are sought from University of Wyoming undergraduates in the sciences (see above), mathematics, engineering, certain areas of health sciences (disciplines supported by the NSF) and students in science and mathematics education who will complete their Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming. in independent research projects for research fellowship awards for Summer of 2008. The stipend will be $3,500 for the Spring Fellowship, and it is intended to support undergraduate fellows during an independent research activity directed by a University of Wyoming faculty member. Literature reviews and survey research are not ordinarily considered for these awards. Application Deadline is February 13, 2008 Who Should Apply? Undergraduates in the sciences (see above), mathematics, engineering, certain areas of health sciences (disciplines supported by the NSF) and students in science and mathematics education who will complete their Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wyoming. Preference will be given to students in their junior year who intend to enter careers in research. Minorities and women are especially encouraged to apply. Information for EPSCoR fellows who are reapplying Students may hold the EPSCoR fellowships for a total of three semesters. Students need to be aware that having been awarded an EPSCoR Fellowship does not guarantee that they will be awarded another semester’s fellowship. They must go through the same application process as other students each time they apply. Additionally, fellows who are reapplying need to include in the project description a brief discussion of the EPSCoR-supported research they have done under past fellowships.
