The Summer Research Apprentice Program (SRAP) is an intensive, seven week, paid summer research program held at the University of Wyoming.  Students that have completed their sophomore year of high school by the time the summer program starts, and/or those that are current high school juniors and seniors are eligible.

SRAP was designed in 1985 to provide minorities, first-generation college bound, and female students the opportunity to gain first hand experience in science, mathematics, engineering, and other related science research.  SRAP is funded by  Wyoming NSF EPSCoR.
Participants are chosen primarily, though not exclusively, from the Rocky Mountain region (including Nebraska and the Dakotas) to attend the program each summer.   According to interest, participants are paired with a University of Wyoming professor and spend their days in the laboratory performing various research experiments.
Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to Chemistry, Energy Research, Ecology, Botany, Molecular Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Nursing, and Psychology.
 		  

Applications:

  • SRAP 2007 Application: This application must be completed and returned no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, 2007. 

  • Letter of Recommendation Forms: This form is to be used by people writing letters of recommendation for SRAPers, this is the form that must be used.

  • SRAP Survey: All previous SRAPers are asked to fill out this survey to ensure accurate and adequate information for our demographics and database. Please print and mail or email to return via contact information below.

  • Travel Permission Form: This form is to be used by the parents/legal guardians of students in SRAP for all non-SRAP travel during the program.
